From Spain into France

The bay has been used as a natural harbour for centuries. The information boards tell you about the various battles the people of St Feliu de Guixol have fought in over the centuries sometimes against the French, sometimes the Italians, and sometimes the English. Clashes with French troops were constant, resulting in the destruction of the Hermitage of St Elm and part of the monastery.
